Custom note fields are here!

You asked. We listened. We’re over the moon to announce that custom note fields are now available on all storyboards! Here’s everything you need to know.

You can now add up to five custom note fields to your storyboard—and they’re no longer restricted to just voiceover and action. So if you want to add notes about sound, lighting, or anything else, go wild.

The fun doesn’t stop there. You can also pick your own icons and names for each field—and those custom note fields display in the edit view, on PDFs, and in the shareable view. Let the good times roll.

How do you use custom note fields? Easy.

  • Customise note fields by clicking on the new settings icon on the storyboard edit view
  • Add up to five custom note fields – just check the visibility icon next to each field
  • Choose custom icons from the dropdown menu
  • Customise your field names (keep it clean)

If you’re the curious type, you might be wondering why we built this feature. People use storyboards in lots of different ways in the creative process. Which means that your storyboard creator needs to be flexible enough for any project that you throw at it.

Thanks to custom note fields, if you ever want to add extra information to your storyboards — like multiple voiceover languages, or camera direction notes — you’ve now got the space to do that. The only limit… is your imagination (cue inspirational music).

Custom note fields are available right now. Head over to your account to try it out, and be sure to let us know what you think.
