Put the storyboard into the production schedule

Download the board as an .xlsx with a thumbnail, your frame fields and status on every row. Add days, locations and kit, and plan the shoot and the budget from the approved frames.

Spreadsheet export is included on paid Boords plans.

One row per frame, picture included

The full export: a thumbnail, each frame field, the frame’s status and the client’s comments, one row per frame on a single worksheet.

#
The frame number, a fixed reference when you copy rows into a schedule or budget workbook.
Image
A thumbnail of each frame, so the schedule shows what each shot looks like. On by default.
Your frame fields
One column per enabled field, under your field names, ready to sit beside your Day, Kit and Cost columns.
Status
Each frame's status in Boords, so you can schedule and cost the approved shots first.
Comments
Off by default. Turn it on and each frame's comments sit in one cell on its row, with replies underneath.

From approved frames to schedule and budget

Line producers start from the board the client signed off, instead of retyping it shot by shot.

Plan the shoot days
Add Day, Location and Call time columns beside each shot, or copy the rows into your schedule template.
Cost it up
Add Kit, Crew and Cost columns per shot, or copy the shot list into the budget workbook.
Keep client notes in view
Turn on Include comments and each frame's feedback sits on its row, with the commenter's name in bold.
Take it on set
The .xlsx lives on your machine, so the shot list opens without a connection.

Download in three clicks

A download, so there is nothing to connect or install.

  1. Step 1: Open the export

Open the storyboard, click Export and choose Google Sheets. The download is a standard .xlsx.
  2. Step 2: Choose what to include

Include frame images is on by default. Turn on Include comments for client feedback.
  3. Step 3: Download and open

Click Download .xlsx. The file downloads straight away, ready to open in Excel.

Good to know

Why it says Google Sheets
The Export menu names the spreadsheet option Google Sheets. It is the same .xlsx for Excel.
A snapshot of the board
The workbook holds the board as it was when you exported it. The tab name carries the version, such as First Light (30s) v1.
Frame images
Thumbnails are placed over the cells rather than inside them. Check them after you rearrange rows, or export without images.
Formatting
Bold, italic, strikethrough and text colour come through. Highlight colour and links stay in Boords.
